Well, the USA tournament is usually tough, but I agree that that is about the weakest OOC schedule I can remember seeing us play and I wonder about who put that together and why?

Ah well, it's good that I can see the Tide here in Mobile, as well as the trips to the Joe I plan on making.

So our only big name OOC matchups are against... SEC teams...

Granted, it will be an odd numbered year - time for UGA to be good again.

The schedules are made 1.5-2 years in advance so I don't know if we can really blame Coach Gaspard for the weak schedule. And be realistic, we lost our entire infield-a weak schedule may not exactly be a bad thing this year.

Either he's already counting an NCAA berth as not happening, or he better go 20-10 in the SEC with that abortion of a non-conference schedule.

I wish we'd get a tougher non-con schedule, but with the team being so inexperienced in so many areas, having a weak OOC may be a blessing in disguise. May can give the young guys some experience, and lets face it, SEC play is what really matters in the end. Do good in that and you'll be in the NCAAs.

I'd love to see us schedule games with some of the bigger name schools once we get our program back on track. Maybe a H and H with Coastal Carolina, or Minnysota, UNC would be a good series too.

I like our solo games at neutral sites against the team from the East left out. I hope we keep it up when it's someone other than UGA.

Who knows, with the schedule we have, maybe we can get to 50 wins ;) hahaha

We played in a Super last year. How much more on track do we need to be? Are we saying that if we had played a 'normal' schedule with this team that we would have been run out of the park? Well, that's encouraging.

Back on track means making Supers (at least) year after year. (re)Building a program is not a one-year deal. It means having talent in place such that we don't have to rely on freshman unless they are EXTREMELY talented, I'm talking game-changer type talented, like the kid from UF (whose name escapes me).

That's what I mean by back on track.

I may be unrealistic in my wants and dreams, but I think we can be one of the top programs in the SEC West again, alongside LSU, we just have to get there.

Not a problem. Those are admirable goals that I think all of us would like to see. Jim Wells in his heyday kind of teams would be great. We did it once, we can do it again, although the age-old excuses/reasons like the lack of Hope scholarship money and the like are out there.

Whatever it takes, I am in favor of the University doing. We want to excel at everything, not just football, gymnastics, softball, cross country and golf. I want to make it back to Omaha and win one before I die. I ain't planning on checking out any time soon, but I sure would like to see us take a step in that direction.
