I don't think the ACC is going to dissolve anytime soon. They just announced a restructuring of their annual payouts based on a school's participation in the tournaments that matter. Capitalism wins again. LOL :geek:

Really doesn’t mean anything. We have heard the same thing out of the PAC 12 and the Big XII. When everyone starts to see the profits Vandy and Rutgers are making then the debate is going to get worse. You also have to factor in how many times a team like Pittsburgh ends up being their champion. Then you have to consider the ND issue.

Yes. Because uneven revenue sharing is never going to get Clemson and Florida State to the level that Rutgers and Vanderbilt will be enjoying.

It's a band aid.

Its a basketball league for the majority of the members. They did everything backwards over the last 30 years. The basketball schools should have gone to the Big East, and the football schools should have migrated to the SEC to begin with but you always had two universities that gave all the rest a sliver of hope that they could be more than they really were. We are looking at you Good Ol Days FSU and the current mantle holder Clemson.

They tried. They did all they realistically could do to keep up.

I hate to be all Thanos, but this was inevitable.

This is similar to the BIG 12 trying to please Texas and Oklahoma. The top schools will still be looking to leave and it will only buy the ACC a few more years. The best thing the remaining schools could do is prepare for the other schools to leave and find replacements for them that lets the conference remain active for a few more years until the ESPN/ABC contract runs out. I don't know how realistic it is, but they could try to pick off the Eastern BIG 12 schools like West Virginia, Cincinnati, and Central Florida and go after South Florida, East Carolina, and possibly UAB. I know that is no where near what they are losing, but it would be a decent conference.

They never should have left in the first place. Now they might can be the bell cow ( so to speak ) in the B12.

According to Outkick.com, it looks like it is going to be Colorado and Arizona that makes the first move. I thought it would be Colorado and Utah to go first, but if it is Colorado and Arizon I would be surprised if Arizona St and Utah are not close behind.

Radio host Greg Swaim, who is very plugged into the Big 12 landscape, reported over the weekend multiple sources have told him Colorado and Arizona are as good as gone from the PAC-12, but there’s no word yet on Utah or Arizona State.

Swaim’s reporting lines up with previous reports that the Buffaloes and Deion Sanders are getting ready to shock the college football world. However, the addition of Arizona getting ready to cut ties is new.

He also correctly noted nothing is final until the ink dries on whatever kind of media deal the PAC-12 might be able to scrounge up.

I have heard that the Big 12 wants to be the Big 24
