I understand that the latest standards followed by the committee no longer weight late season more heavily than early, which obviously hurts us badly. Since the tournament will be played at the end of the season, it just makes no sense...

Which would have to improve greatly to achieve stupid. Using logic like that, the annual BCS fb Championship might as well be awarded in May....

It will be just wrong if a 13-5 SEC record doesn't get Bama in the Dance. Even with some SEC West teams down(LSU & Auburn) this season Bama's 5-2 record against the SEC East should be enough. Hopefully Bama can beat Kentucky so all this craziness of wondering if Bama deserves to go to the NCAA tourament ends after today.

:BigA: ROLL TIDE :BigA:

Penn St in is mind-boggling. Their resume consist entirely of two wins over Wisconsin, and their 9-9 conf. record was built up the conference's bottom-feeders (twice over NW, twice over Minn., Iowa).

And to note, against the lowliest of the lowly, the SEC West, Penn St had a double-digit loss handed to them by Ole Miss.

I've said all along we have to get to the finals to make it in to the Big Dance. If we get to play Florida again and at least play well, I think we've done enough to convince the committee. It's not a fair system, but it is what it its.

I believe what you've outlined might not be necessary, because of the other teams - and other factors we can't control - but I think it would constitute a lock. If we get by KY, I think it would really help to do well enough against UF to help erase the mental picture of the blowout on national TV...

I can't follow Joe Lunardi's logic. Yesterday morning, USC was in his "First Four Out," then they lost to Arizona, and he places them in his "Last Four In" this morning. Makes no sense...

Jay Bilas just referenced the RPI as "an absolute joke." One of the few people who will call that stupid rating out.

Anybody know what our RPI is as of right now and how that will improve or not after the game today? Seems like the past couple of games against UGA should have improved our standing immensely... .but who knows?

Without the RPI we wouldn't even be on the bubble. It's a skewed stat that should be abolished for tournament eligibility. If we don't get in regardless of what happens today, it would be the first time in history that a team with our SEC record was left out. It's almost as if the talking heads think we should be punished for being in a down division. One of the idiots on one of those ESPN round table discussions actually asked back in late Feb if Alabama was the worst bubble team in history. He obviously had no clue about the team and based his question on perception. Pathetic.

Even if UK beats us today we would have a 13-5 SEC record. There is no way possible for the selection committee to FAIRLY leaves us out. If they leave us out, the NCAA is basically flipping the bird at the SEC, and the NCAA tournament continues to become a joke just like the NCAA itself. It is stupid enough for them to have 68 teams with four play in games, but a team that wins 13 league games in a major conference getting left out would be an absolute joke. The SEC may be down this year, but it isn't as bad as some other conferences.

The last few 3'***** by Charvez and Mitchell might make a difference. A 20+ point loss to UK isn't as bad as a 16 point loss.

I'm telling you, we're in tomorrow. It's going to happen.

We need Penn State and Va Tech to lose.

Can someone explain to me, how 3 weeks ago, our SOS was 125, then we play Ole Miss (RPI 77), UF (RPI top 15), Georgia (RPI 39), Georgia(RPI 39) and now Kentucky (RPI Top 15), and our SOS is NOW 153??????????????? And St Peters won their tournament and their RPI jumped 20 --- should have helped our SOS too....

Seriously?
