Grew up with Motown, The Four Seasons, Righteous Brothers, Jay and the Americans, The Big O ( Roy Orbison ), The Beatles, Aretha, etc., etc. Stuff you could dance to, lyrics you could understand and was often romantic. Did like some of the 80`s, but that`s where it pretty much ended for me.
There is good new music. But you have to search and dig for it.

had the radio turned to the “classic rock” station in rural north alabama (i think it was 92.7) this morning and “boogie oogie oogie” was on.

Saw them in concert during the Elemental Tour early 90's when I was living in Lehigh Acres (near Ft Myers).

One of my top 3 ever attended concerts.

Curt Smith not with them but Oleta Adams was.
