Re: The Bill Curry brick incident.

If someone had been able to heave a brick through CBC's window, we should have fired him on the spot for not offering the offending person a scholarship!:biggrin2:

Okay, I also heard that Curry had put Gene Jelks outside to defend against anything thrown at his window, but...well...since Jelks was a great RB but not a great DB...you get the picture.

Re: The Bill Curry brick incident.

I was not living in Alabama at the time of the brick incident and have no idea what happened.

But I don't understand why people who seem to know something about it feel they have to speak in mysteries.

If Curry was lying, and Hollingsworth/Sutton/Curry/Anyone were having an argument and Hollingsworth/Sutton/Curry/Anyone threw a brick through the window, why not just say so?

Re: The Bill Curry brick incident.

I explained the reason for my curiosity in the opening post. Do you have a reading comprehension problem?
Good one!

I'm not going to get into a mud slinging battle, you have your right to know, I was just stating my opinion.

Roll Tide!

Ok, I did it! No really, I think Richard Schrushy did it!

Ah, my friend, you confuse the journey with the destination. The Bill Curry Brick Incident, like the zen koans of Buddhism, seeks not to answer the question but to question all answers.

Instead of asking who threw a brick through Bill Curry's window, perhaps we should ask why that window separated the brick from Bill Curry.;)

Re: The Bill Curry brick incident.

My opinion is that it never happened. I base this on friends who were on the FB team at the time and also close friends who were, and are, on faculty. Every time this thread pops up, someone appears whose third cousin actually saw the brick arc up to the second floor and through the tempered glass window. This is not the only falsehood Curry tells...

Wouldn't that have been the QB from Mobile at that time instead of Vince Sutton? I can't recall his name but I believe that's who Jay Barker beat out a year or two later. :conf2:
You are thinking of Danny Woodson.

Re: The Bill Curry brick incident.

I'm sweating it...I heard they just reopened the case back up and its going to be on Discovery channels next episode of " Cold Case Files". I must admit I left my dna and fingerprints all over that darn brick. Not to mention it has my name let in the note that I put around it. The note says " Dear Coach , You Suck" BFANLC. I don't understand why they were never able to track me down. I've been looking over my shoulder ever since.

Re: The Bill Curry brick incident.

I went to that game where wer lost to Ole Miss at homecoming. I personally would have thrown the brick if I had one....
I was there too. The running joke at the time was CBC should have offered the alleged thrower a scholarship on the stop, cause he obviously had a better arm than anyone on the squad.:biggrin2:
