Cop in MO kills unarmed black teen

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

Talked to the ex-cop new client this morning.

He said the biggest mistake people make when these sorta things happen is they disobey instructions from the cop(s).............and things escalate. Sometimes very quickly - and sometimes it involves a cop shooting to defend himself.

He said he spent some time in Washington DC and at times he and his partner were the only 2 white people in a particular area - on a call for example. He shared a few stories about confrontations that ended well but could have gone the other way. He remains VERY thankful they ended well. Said that cop in Ferguson will have to live with this but if he was justified....it is something he can live with.

Said the guy who was choked in NYC a while back - he resisted and it escalated.

I guess that's an important message to take from these things. Do not resist - and do what you are told to do by law enforcement.

We all know there are many peace officers on power trips - probably goes with the territory if you think about it. But even more of a reason to just comply and everyone gets to live another day.

Bazza, I agree with you with resisting, but the guy who got murdered by choking, to me that's just a different story. I strongly believe he got murdered on that one.

Other than that, I fully believe in the resisting. Also, the cop was in his right to tell them to get out of the street, no matter if he was going on a power trip or not, he gave a lawful order, just get out of the road.

Hmmm... Seems the officer suffered a "blow-out" fractured eye socket...

Edit: This is from a tweet by a St. Louis reporter who claims to have contacts in the police dept. in Ferguson. She also said that the police have gathered 12 eyewitnesses who all corroborate the story of the officer.
Wait. The police officer in Ferguson who shot Brown? That police office had a blow-out fractured eye socket?

Yes and about a dozen witnesses have confirmed his version of the events but our communist media is having a problem with making that public. It is better for ratings to keep the anger alive. "If it bleeds, it leads," and people are bleeding because they jumped on a narrative that was untrue.
Police over-reach does appear to have been a problem in Ferguson before the death of Michael Brown. Add poor economic conditions and few job prospects, even worse for the black community, and the incident was ripe for violence. Hopefully things will settle and talks can begin for change for the better. I am not holding much hope though.

It appears to be true. I've begun to think this will never see a grand jury. Then the riots will really get catastrophic...

Edit: I've had that injury and the guy threw the punch while I was being held by two friends. He was being held by one, who failed to hold him, IOW total sucker punch. He was a tackle on the HS football team and probably weighed twice what I weighed. It felt like that side of my face just caved in. In my case, it extended down into the maxillary process. Somehow, Brown got a good clean shot at the officer's face. You have to, to do that kind of damage...

The way this has been reported you'd think this happens nightly in Ferguson and around the country. I can't wait for the coverage of carnage on this level from Chicago where black teens are literally slaughtering each other. Something tells me it won't be part of the Divide America Tour.

On a side thought... I really did hold out hope when Obama was elected that we had turned a corner on this kind of base race-baiting. He could have done soooo much good building a bridge, but rather he stoked flames. Such a wasted opportunity from a person with a gift to speak.

If the media had a corroborated story about it then yeah, they were wrong to not report it. However, I highly doubt that if they knew anything about it and it had been validated that they would have kept it quiet for ratings. It would be just the opposite.

That's not really how it works. We, the staff, wrestle with that issue all the time. We generally know things the public doesn't. The problem is that, when you know something limited people know, if you let it out, you lose that source forever, so you're forced to maintain confidentiality. I think this female reporter is in exactly that position. It'll all come out eventually...

One thing I have found out is that the cop shot down at a downward angle with the last two shot. Those last two were in the head one in the eye and one in the head. How would anyone know? Mike Brown was 6'5. There was a struggle in the squad car as well over the gun.
From the interviews which have leaked out, Brown kept on coming, despite being hit several times. At that point, he'd already caved in the officer's eye socket. I'm sure the officer kept on shooting and the final shot probably hit as Brown was going down. The officer couldn't have duplicated that, even if Brown were prone on the ground. There's a lot of evidence yet to come out. I've reached my private conclusion that Brown was most likely in an altered state. It explains the behavior in the convenience store and it explains why he wouldn't go down despite being shot multiple times. Personally, I think just getting hit with just one bullet, of any caliber, would pretty much ruin my day...

The altered state is what I'm waiting on someone to say, but I haven't heard anything yet.

All I've heard is some level of THC in his blood, but that can hang around for a long time. His behavior would be much more consistent with PCP or any of the family of "uppers."

I recently took a handgun class tutored by an ex-FBI agent. He had fought alongside men who had been hit in shootouts and some even died later. They had kept on fighting, some not even realizing they had been hit. He said it is not like the movies, you don't get knocked off your feet with a typical handgun hit. Michael Brown was a large guy and it probably would have taken several hits to stop him, especially if he was high on something.

Thanks for that info. I can check that off my list, but it only brings up more question. I'm lost.

I'm sure it'll all come out. It appears now that the DA is going to put it before a grand jury. Were I in his position, and had to live there, I probably would do exactly the same. I think it's safe to say that the cigars he took are not the cause of any psychic alteration. It's a very slim probability, but there are a couple of mental disorders which manifest themselves around the age of Brown, either of which would explain his bizarre behavior...

No doubt about that.

No matter how the final conclusive evidence and reports come out - even if it is determined the police officer was justified in this shooting.....there will remain a significant segment of the populace....who will/can never be satisfied.

This is because they will always feel.........disenfranchised.

No amount of common sense or legalities can resolve that issue in their mind.

Sad....but also frustrating for many.
