I love Jalston Fowler because of his size, but TJ was awesome in the spring game in my opinion!! Its going to be very hard to get all the rbs carries.
Sims will be situational no. 2. In fact, I think if we had an immediate need, he would get the start.
Sept 1 can't come fast enough!
Hope you are talking about for a small length of time.
Or, this tells me that Elly is not being looked at as anything other than a back-up considering he is an exclusive QB and Sims just has a year on him. Also that if A.J were to go down that we are in trouble, if Blake was that good he would be a full time QB instead of a RB, It's not like we've had to have him as a RB the past couple of years. It also tells me that Alec must not be ready for prime-time. A.J and GMAC both played a little as red-shirt Freshmen.
I see Bateman as the future, but if A.J does leave after this season, next year could put us in new territory. I would have liked one of the two quarterbacks on the roster to be capable back-ups with a combined 3 years in the program.
If A.J has a serious injury I bet one of these two would get the job, Sims just as a band-aide. Again, if Sims was that good of a QB, that would be his position. Having a capable 2nd string QB is more important than his contributions in the backfield imo.
Lots of psychotherapy!![]()
I'm always worried about something. It's both heriditary and congenital.
Choices this year are, in order:
-- Lacy. Is he really healthy? As I have posted several times, if turf toe results in surgery, it's bad, bad news. The name of the injury doesn't begin to describe its gravity. "Turf toe." Sound kind of like hangnail. But it can be career threatening, especially for an athlete who relies on side-to-side movement. Even for regular people who are not elite athletes, it can be crippling.
I sincerely hope I'm overly pessimistic. But my position today is that every CPG over an average of 10 that Lacy gets in the last four games is a bonus. I cannot find anything on the net that would inspire confidence without crimson-colored glasses.
-- Backup QB. AJ is proven. And we have the best Alabama OL since the late '70s. Maybe the best ever. Certainly one of the strongest college lines for 2012. But all it takes is one play, and that might not even require contact. If AJ goes down, we go from a BSCNCG contender to a team that struggles against quality opposiiton. If he goes down while the Arkansas game is still in doubt or earlier, it pretty well cooks our NC hopes.
LB -- We're reloading. DBs -- we'll be fine by game 3. Punting should be better, if only because of maturity brought on by age.
PK inside 40 is sound. But KOs and FGs of 40+, we regressed last year, and not just against LSU. This has to get better. Shelley's leg, while accurate, just isn't all that strong. He can make them, but has to kick a low ball at 40+. If he's the man, look for more of those to get blocked this year as the opposition prepares for that weakness.
On the positive side, I'm crying about one RB, a backup QB, and 40+ yard FGs. Not many teams would trade places with us right now.
Edit: ok i feel dumb....i completley missed your first sentence where you said "Hope you are talking about for a small length of time."
I thought you were stating the reason he was the Number 2 qb as complete fact.
Does Aetna cover Pre-season Anxiety Syndrome?
My thinking is that we are going to have a bridge between A.J and Bateman, and if, from the word on the street, A.J happens to leave early, then the person replacing a lengthy injury to A.J has the definite edge. With how important the back-up quarterback is, I can't picture coach Saban having this player practicing as a third string running back. Since that makes no sense, like you are suggesting, Sims is a package quarterback but if A.J was to miss games either Elly or Morris would most probably get the nod. Unless Sims sets the roof on fire.
Again, nothing against Sims, just that if he was starting SEC material, he would not be playing as a reserve reserve RB. If he was a starting skill position player that would be different.
#25 would be more fitting
Definitely.
Hope he is a similar talent on the field, and stays out of trouble off the field.

correct indeed. Robert Lester is one of the smarter players at his position i've seen and with the experience of Miliner I think our secondary will be ok. Similar with the defensive front. As you said, in a lot better position than last time we came off a national championship.
Please tell me that number 65 is Darren Lake???? In that picture he looks like a freaking monster!
