The two teams ahead have been pretty open about whom they're taking. I don't think anyone thinks there is any analysis going on. Even Shanahan has said there's no point in concealing anything this year at #3, which tells me that he hasn't made up his mind, not that he's playing games...
From what some talking heads were saying yesterday, is Shanahan wants Jones and Lynch wants Fields so i guess its like everything take it for what it's worth

I pulled these numbers from NFL.com so they are not necessarily the best draft evaluations but should be somewhat unbiased.
Player: Dwayne Haskins Draft rating: 6.70
Justin Fields 6.45
Tua Tagovailoa 6.77
Mac Jones 6.33

Using this as a guide perhaps we need to pump the brakes a bit on this years class of Qb's.

well, this is what they have for Jones weaknesses:

  • Very thin lower body and struggles to fight off rush contact.
  • Slow ball handler on RPOs.
  • Leaves back half behind in his follow-through.
  • Average release quickness.
  • Locks in on a target rather than honoring the progressions.
  • Doesn't play with the desired poise of an NFL starter.
  • Antsy when reads don't quickly come together.
  • Play can be panicky and rushed in the face of pressure.
  • Has trouble locating open targets in direction where heat is coming from.
  • Would like to see him play with more grit.
I added the bold - because that's the stuff that is just nonsense. The other stuff, maybe so, but this had me wondering if they only watched stuff from 2019...

Balderdash.

More grit? These people have not watched him play.

Good grief, if even half of those are true he shouldn't be playing football at all.

There's no way that can be from NFL scouts...

It should just say "We like him because he beat Alabama in the national championship game."

Holy crap! This reminds me of Beano Cook raving over that Notre Dame QB many years ago. Lawrence has a lot to live up too.

I have never been all that impressed with Lawrence or Fields. I will admit to only watching them play 2-4 times. I saw two guys that had accuracy issues that were, at times, bailed out by their receivers. I do understand that Lawrence has to go first in the draft. There is just too much hype around him by the media and fans. Jacksonville would initially look bad if they did not select him.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
What I don't understand is they were drooling over Burrows last season & Mac had a better year than Burrows did his senior season..Mac was better than Burrows..
It is because Burrow is more athletic/mobile than Jones. If you take away Burrow's edge in mobility they are the same quarterback. But Burrow is more mobile, which doesn't mean he's a better quarterback, just means he's more mobile.
