Thank you. I had a hard time not being impulsive as I read the latest new pages, but it's about time someone called this little exchange for what it is.

I hope not. He's a BAMA boy, but a mediocre coach at best.

I don't ever see him coaching at Alabama and personally hope this never happens.

To say he is an average coach is very being kind. He built his reputation as a recruiter. IMO the powers that be at Clemson are delusional for making him the head coach. Dabo has got to be the second best self promoter in college football behind Lane Kiffin. This is the only way he could have landed the head coaching job at Clemson.

No offense, but unless Dabo shows dramatic improvement as a coach, you can keep him.

I like Dabo and all, but quite frankly he coached for 17 years and had yet to rise above the status of a position coach at a mid-tier ACC program. No thanks on that.

If he ends up at 'Bama, it will be because we are in a world of hurt.

I'm going to let the cat out of the bag and state that he turned CNS down twice for hefty raises to become an assistant at Bama, and his reason was the hours that Saban staffs work. I have to congratulate him for being family-conscious but we all know the universe Nick creates for himself and his staff. I never want another 9-5 head coach...

How ironic. He turns Nick down, but begged Franchione to be retained back in 2000.

I say good. Nothing personal against Dabo, I just don't think he's a great coach. And my guess is he'll eventually regret the decision to turn Nick down--he may have finished strong last season, but he's just a few losses from being on the hot seat and probably only one bad season from getting fired. Keep in mind many of the Clemson folks did NOT want him as a permanent replacement to Tommy Bowden.

My best friend is a huge Bama fan like me, and knows some people in the Clemson athletic department, and he will probably get a job offer there when he graduates (sports management major). Their impressions: Dabo is a great Christian guy and solid recruiter, but they jokingly won't talk about his coaching ability. I *-NEVER-* want him at Bama as HC, period.

No offense to Dabo or any Clemson fans, but I don't even think he's a mediocre head coach. I think he was an average WR's coach.

Seriously, I don't know what Clemson was thinking when they hired him. I guess they thought his ability to recruit may compensate for his
deficiencies as a head coach. This was a horrible move on their part IMO.
