Is there a scenario where we still back into the playoffs?

With Miami losing to Syracuse, Clemson is in ACC championship game. If Clemson wins, then automatic bid to playoffs, right?

By the way I see Notre Dame getting credit for 4 ranked wins. Aren’t two of those Army and Navy who aren’t currently ranked and clearly are on a lower level than ND?
Yeah I know they look at where teams are ranked when they played them and not where they end up. Georgia Tech has 2 top 10 wins One being Miami who was 6th the other they get credit for is FSU who was ranked 10th to open season. 😂

What you think?
Week 15 CFP Ranking Prediction:
1. Oregon
2. Texas (if they win)
3. Penn State
4. ND
5. Georgia
6. Tennessee
7. SMU
8. Indiana (winning)
9. Boise State
10. Ohio State (not sure they will be in top 12 with loss to 6–5 Michigan)
11. Alabama
12. Ole Miss

I think that OSU drops to 8th or 9th, but stays ahead of Indiana.

I like it, but ole miss won't be in, you might have done what I was looking at - in your case, 12 would be asu/isu/co/byu

I thought it was obvious, but apparently it wasn’t.
SOS does get considered, it just isn't an overriding factor to the extent that a team having one loss with no meaningful wins will get them bounced from consideration, even if we think fifty teams with more losses could have won the same number.

Miami will have two losses and no meaningful wins, and we really don't know where they will end up ranked. I don't think they would beat the first two or three SEC teams that don't make it in, but they might get in over them anyway. And I could be wrong about the SEC teams beating them. SEC teams have been unreliable.

Anyone with confidence about who the teams on the bubble are going to be, or how the committee will view conference championship losses are a little too sure of themselves, however they think it's going to go.

We have a chance to be regarded well enough to be in it, but we failed to prove it sufficiently on the road this year to do more than hope.

PSU is #4 and only has beaten only two teams with atleast 6 wins. Explain that.
Very simple they started number 7 in the country and only lost 1 game. Your not gonna drop in rankings if you win your games especially as other teams lose. Like it or not your ranking at the beginning of the year can give you a huge advantage or disadvantage. Your school name is also a huge factor which is one main reasons I think we get in over Mississippi. The resumes are very similar but we started higher and have the bigger name.

This....rankings at the beginning of the year have a massive impact....PSU should not have been ranked that high...and because they play a weak schedule there is no way to drop them. They are average to say the least

To be fair, the selection committee was supposed to change that.

Yep, more of the same. They could somewhat solve this by pushing the initial rankings release out until like Week 8, but then what would we talk about (and what would the networks sell)?
Not to beat a dead horse, but.....it was meant to be the best 12...and the way it's set up, it definitely is not..reminds me of the FSU or TCU rankings or even OU vs. LSU...just uncompetitive games...luckily this is a season of good not great teams so most games wont be blow outs
