News Article: Lane Kiffin empathizes with Tennessee's Josh Heupel over officiating in Alabama loss

If any of you still think you want Kiffin someday, let me offer a gentle reminder about his personality. He's still crying about Cody doffing and tossing his helmet after the "Rocky Block" play in 2009.

Never mind that the GAME WAS OVER when Cody did this.

Kiffin Still Crying About 2009
Does complaining about the refs disqualify one from consideration?

That sure would narrow the field of potential hires.

I doubt Kiffin will get the job, and I have a feeling the person who does get it will be a lot better than Kiffin. I know people hate to follow a legend, but coaches also hate going to programs devoid of talent as well. When Saban decides to hang it up, I'm almost certain he will leave enough talent to make excellent coaches not worry about following him.

Dig that. Kitten is a good play caller and has a funny disposition but dude is a horrible head coach IMHO. Hope he never steps foot in Tuscaloosa again except for the dates when he brings his team for its flogging.

Yes, there was some home cooking in Tuscaloosa Saturday night but it never reached close to the ridiculous level as that achieved at Rocky Flop last season when the ref cheered a TN TD. Young was physically assaulted all game but no roughing the passer calls were ever made. I don't want' want to hear any whining from Kiffin or Orangeland.

Refs are just bad. They miss holds all the time. They didn't throw a flag on Burton kicking a guy but they also didn't throw a flag when our guy got punched.

Also, I'm finding the full on meltdown the Vol fans are having pretty hilarious. You'd think the game ended on a last second play that the refs got wrong instead of us winning by 14 and shutting them out in the 2nd half.

I don't want to give them free ad space, so can you PM me a link to the board you're lurking on? I absolutely and one of those who love to watch my foes wallow in misery. 😁

Honestly, I've mostly just seen it on twitter. It's all over the place.

But here is a taste from one board that I saw posted elsewhere

is always money. The motivation for corrupt refs fixing Bama’s games is clearly about greedy people getting richer, but can someone educate me on how this works? So the SEC makes a lot more $$$ if SEC teams make the playoffs, right? Ok I get that, but why is Bama so protected? They really aren’t that great of a team this year. We are the power players so motivated to protect Bama? Tennessee only had 1 loss going into yesterdays game just like Bama. Does the SEC think we are too risky to protect - we are more likely to slip up and lose again? Is it really just about protecting the few teams that have the easiest path to the playoffs? It can’t be about viewership or fans traveling. You can’t tell me that Bama travels better than UT or has more viewership. In fact, most people I know hate Bama and won’t even watch the playoffs if they are in it because they know they are corrupt. The first time Georgia played Bama in the championship, I think it was 2017- I still remember that there were several calls that clearly favored Bama. Towards the end of the game, Fromm got thrown on the ground well after the play was over. The ref was right there and refused to throw a flag (I don’t like GA either, but was amazed at this). Back to my question- why does everyone get richer when Bama wins and why is everyone so terrified to speak out against a tiny little man (Saban) and corrupt refs? Is the mob involved? Are lives being threatened? Why is a backwards, podunk state so powerful? How are they generating so much cash?

What are your thoughts on Dave Aranda? I hear the guy has an extremely high football IQ and I hear he is a very disciplined style of coach. I know his defenses at LSU were stout.
He’s having issues at Baylor this year. Not yet sold on his HC abilities.
