I imagine (don't know for sure) that the practice time available with those kids (little league) was probably too limited to have been able to correct those fundamentals anyways.

I would guess its the high school coaches that might have the time/availability to do that.
I would have to disagree. Every year the local high school coaches would hold clinics for those of us coaching, from little league all the way up pony league and some American legion coaches would attend. Even in little league prior to the season, the average was 2-3 practices per week, usually 1 1/2 hours on week nights and 2 hours or more on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.
Every high school coach stressed “we’ll teach them about winning. You teach them how to play the game the right way. You teach them how to love the game. We’ll teach them how to love the game while winning.”

Taysom Hill has been clocked in a game running 20.17 mph, ran a 4.46 40 at the combine, and squatted 685 pounds at this years training camp. JM doesn't top any of those...
yes he does. Milroe runs a sub 4.4. I am also pretty sure that there is a quote out there about Milroe running over 21 mph during practice and games. I have no idea what he squats but Booker called him a gym rat

I don't know about that. They were saying on one of the broadcast of the games that he runs in the 4.5s

And some have said he's the fastest player on the team.

Do any of them really know what they're talking about, or are they just blathering on about stuff they heard other people say during the week before the game?

It would make me so mad. A kid with bad fundamentals and poor mechanics was allowed to “do it that way” at 7-12 years old “because I can win him like he is”.
well, sometimes no matter what coaches try to do to help some kids with fundamentals, the kids don't always get there. Sometimes they just think they are good enough so don't take it to heart, and sometimes the kid just can't.

Opposite is really true. Even in HS here in GA, there are strict limits on the times of year that HS coaches can work with kids on sport specific stuff. No such rules in middle or elementary. Plus once you get to HS, you're starting to game plan and have specific approaches to how you scout out and play each opponent. There are individual skill blocks in HS practices for sure so it's not like they don't work it, but it's probably 20% or so. In Elementary and Middle you're much more focused on getting fundamentals and game concepts across and often that's enough to win.

40 times are very subjective. Laser combine time and hand time are world's apart. I have watched enough game footage to see that JM is plenty fast but neither him nor Taysom are world class. Regardless, my point was Hill is much more of a superior athlete than what he was getting credit for. Sometimes looks can be deceiving...

That is not correct at all. below is a quote from saban....

Jalen Milroe, quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide, can run a 40-yard dash in a time close to 4.3 seconds. Nick Saban, the head coach, has said that Milroe was the fastest player on the 2023 Crimson Tide.

Milroe's combination of speed, accuracy, and ability to take hits makes him a threat when the pocket breaks down. He's also a strong academic performer, graduating cum laude with a 3.52 GPA and earning a spot on the CSC Academic All-District team in 2023.

HIs speed is deceptive too, because he glides rather than churns when he's running.

If Richardson can get drafted then so can Milroe even if is a project. It is just a waist of time speculating that Jalen will be nothing other than our starting QB the remainder of this season.
Tom Luginbill has tweeted out that he thinks Milroe will be told by the NFL to stay in college one more year and it seems like that's what Luginbill thinks he should do.

If Milroe is to be benched it needs to be for his performance, not because "the season is over" and "we're preparing for 2025". That would be a crappy message sent to the team and that truly is quitting. This isn't the NFL where teams tank for the first overall pick.
Agreed. But how is that to be gauged without TS and/or DL playing significant minutes/series during SEC games?

If he's playing well enough there's no need to put Ty Simpson in. CKD has already shown he isn't using this year's games to prepare any QB for next season. So going by his philosophy, the only reason to bench Milroe would be because of his performance. Sure, IF IT WERE ME, I would have been giving Ty reps in some capacity all year. But that hasn't been CKD's MO.

saw that - please no. I can understand why the NFL might say to stay and try to improve, but do we really think he can develop more after last year, then hearing all about all the private QB sessions, and all the other work, and this seeing the same thing on the field again this year?

Yeah, we have almost no catches this season where the reciever was able to run in stride after the catch. Only one I can think of off the top of my head was the final TD against SC (and Benson shouldn’t have scored anyways).
He threw a few perfect passes against Wisc but not many since.

The biggest improvement he’s made is not routinely throwing behind a RB on a check down but even that still crops up at times.

He’s just a very inaccurate QB who rarely puts it on a guys # in stride.

He gets it in the area code mostly but lately he’s been throwing passes across state lines.

Well it would be for his performance. But it's clear that the reason has hasn't been benched already is because the team would quit if they did. Well the season would be over, so that wouldn't be an issue anymore. He already should've been benched for his performance btw, but here we are

I think it's a longshot. Is DeBoer really going to wait until year 3 to install his true offense? That would be a very risky move, especially considering how impatient the fans have been to date.
