Odom to be Charged, Perrilloux Cleared

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

Interesting. I'd heard that one of the bouncers, the one most affected, was Alex Loomis, son of Mickey Loomis, GM for the Saints...

How many people's kids must lose their jobs before everyone realizes that the Saints just suck and you can't take it out on the kids? DON'T BLAME THE KIDS! :)

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

Should there be a need for an option QB by LSU on Saturday............Periouxlou will play. Bet a cold drink on it.

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

Yep, I hear there's a ton of surveillance film out there being examined... :D

According to Perriloux's attorney he was was only defending himself.

Also, what the word is today is that he didn't practice yesterday and this is a day to day situation and many now believe (with Ryan getting his attorney involved) that he will practice either today or tomorrow and will play Saturday. If the police don't charge him with anything, it's a non-story in my mind...he'll play. So far they have not charged him.

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

while we would probably be better off if he doesn't play...

while watching the auburn game i couldn't understand why they kept pulling flynn out and putting RP in....it seemed to really mess up the rhythm...they would be having a good drive, make the switch and for the most part it seemed to stall the drive...

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

In fairness, and to agree with Alan, if no one has been charged and as of yet, all we have are eyewitness accounts (pending the film investigation), they should play.

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

TBF, I don't think RP plays. I think they have suspended the two that the tapes absolutely forced them to suspend. There may be more. I don't think Miles is a Tarkanian, or even a Nutt, when it comes to "doing the right thing." I wish I could say more, but it's better for all of the facts to come out from the proper authorities. And, posting over and over "RP will play" adds nothing at all, without something to really back it up, unless, I guess, if you're padding your post total...

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

And, I'd add this. I don't think any coach needs, and is certainly not legally required, to wait until charges are formally lodged. The HC needs to satisfy himself that he knows what happened and take action. The wheels of justice can then grind at their own speed. Kids are expelled from school, employees are discharged and myriad other actions taken by individuals doing the right thing, based on what they know. This idea that everything has to wait until the courts rule is novel in Anglo/America law, and I don't like the idea one bit. It leads to people not taking actions they should take morally, because they're afraid of downstream legal consequences.

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU!!!

I agree. Look at the situations we have had. CNS new what happened with our players that were involved in things and they were dealt with immediately. SC is still waiting to go to trial however the thing was already handled by CNS. RTR

lots of folks don't like it or subscribe to it, myself included, but it's becoming ever so commonplace in athletics; both collegiate and professional. I don't pretend to speak for everyone, but that's where I was coming from with it. Just the possibility that, provided CLM hasn't seen any tapes, he may not suspend anyone on "hearsay", not matter how people he "hear" "sayin" it.

I believe CLM has seen tapes, probably tapes he'd rather not have seen and has taken action based on those tapes, rather than on hearsay...

CLM has shown himself to be willing to hammer someone if needed.

Re: Perriloux, Odom out for LSU?

One other thing...

The bouncers that worked at the bar that night...are now seeking employment elsewhere. I don't know exactly what that means, and am certainly not making excuses for the LSU players involved. But as I previously mentioned above, no arrests were made...and those two facts when combined make me wonder just who exactly WAS at fault in this incident...and makes me doubt the stories of all involved. I understand there are video surviellance tapes, so maybe something was noticed on the tapes that caused the establishment to take action against the bouncers...terminating their employment. Definitely a sticky situation...and a lot of things are unknown...probably always will be.

On the flip side...maybe the bouncers are scared to come back to work? Maybe being a bouncer and having to wear a bullet proof vest isn't what some wanted when they took the job. That is, fearing retaliation of what happened since someone mentioned a gun, who knows like you said. :puke: :s-instagib: :aiwebs_008:

To add further I guess thats why RP and DO are no longer allowed inside the Varsity, ya know since they were mis treated and all. This is kinda how I look at it and maybe I'm wrong. I see DO and RP as trouble makers, have had several problems with the law. So in a situation like this its hard for me to believe they are innocent.

The bar is still in BR, and if the owner of the bar wants to make any money in the future, it is easier to get new bouncers regardless of who was at fault, than to back them up, file charges against RP (assuming, for the sake of argument that RP was at fault for the altercation).
The bouncers moving on doesn't really indicate much.

Ask yourself why this person needs a lawyer unless there were weapons, property damage or injured parties.
