I know this is more or less you making a statement off a gut feeling of what you think might happen at this current snapshot of time.

But if that were to actually happen I’d be done with CKD and this whole regime.

It sends just the completely wrong message when we’ve had a kid (Ty) stay and quietly working behind the scenes to get better and earn a fair shot but instead he doesn’t get on based off NIL/Lank junk and on top of that gets passed over for a free agent from the portal?

That’s just not right.

Ty has taken the Mac Jones route and deserves a chance for his hard work and patience.
Here is the thing…. If you believe that then blame Saban for this whole fiasco. I had a major staffer straight up say at a REC meeting that both Milroe and Simpson were told that they had the staff’s blessing to transfer at the end of spring last year and that they were all trying to convince TCU to take Milroe. They clearly never had any faith behind Milroe and were disappointed Simpson never won the job or looked confident in practice.

I get the impression that Simpson has and never will be a guy that Deboer considers. I have this opinion as a couch coach but it does seem odd that Simpson has never gotten any meaningful reps or any signs that he will when Milroe has been stinking up the field. It just screams that Deboer just wants this “9th grade mean girl drama” to be over with and start with a guy with a fresh start.

I still can’t fathom how he is playing at this point. At literally ANY other level of football, he would not have been the starter after the Tennessee game. But because college football has been tainted by NIL and player entitlement, he is given chance after chance….after chance. I never thought I would ever have so much disdain for ANY Bama player. I can no longer say that. He has destroyed my love for this program.
I told my family last night that I've never been so ready for a player to leave.

I’ve heard about the TCU smoke before. If that’s true, then why is Milroe so high on Bama? If I knew my team was shopping me around, I’d be gone so fast. God, I want to wake up from this nightmare.

I’m still in shock that it was past common sense to know Venables would sell out to stop Milroe running and not only did KD not have an adjustment he kept doing the same thing. Absolutely mind boggling.
There’s not much you can do when your QB can’t throw the ball short/quickly with any accuracy. The only solution is to put another QB in. The fact that we haven’t tried any other QBs since the 2023 USF game should tell us our QB situation is way worse than we‘re willing to admit. I have been super high on Simpson since he came here, but he must absolutely suck. It’s the only explanation.

Because Sonny didn’t want to deal with his demands. Every Player transferring out of major programs has demands and let’s not get this statement twisted in that Milroe is unique in this. But it 100% came down to a disagreement on what Sonny was willing to give him… namely a guaranteed starting role.

I believe all of that. I’m basically saying Milroe is too stupid to realize Bama didn’t want him.

He will get a few more years. I just hope that the question is answered decisively in that time frame.

No program does well when changing leadership every few years. Let him try to build this program back up.
I agree with this. Anyone suggesting he should be shown the door after this year is crazy. I know three years of 9-3 or 8-4 would be hard to swallow for some, But let’s see where it goes. We can call this year and next a transitional year, and coach needs to pay attention to holding the recruiting class together. I still think he is the man for the job, as long as he learns from his mistakes. This ain’t U Dub, this is college football 24/7 , and mistakes get magnified in places like Tuscaloosa.

Great question, I’ve been asking for awhile. The book on Milroe was he didn’t throw the short or intermediate ball well, but his deep ball was the best in the country.
Earlier in the year, espn was talking about milroe and how his worst throws were 0-10 yards to the right side. Since then, I swear, that's what he's been leading with. All 3 interceptions were to the right. If talking heads can study analytics and see where his weakness was months ago, why can't our staff?

$$$$$. By all accounts he is a personable guy. Being the QB at Bama has its rewards. $$$$$.

Bama should have never given in to his demands either..............

Milroe is to our offense for 2 years what Golding was to our defense for 5. We quite literally lost championships due to both
As bad as Golding was, we should have won titles in 2021 and 2022. Injuries cost us titles in both of those years. I’m not saying Golding is blameless, but Milroe is hands down the single biggest reason we didn’t win titles the last two years.

8 and 3 , the day after. Tell us how you really feel now that you slept on it. For me, I pretty much feel the same way. It’s not that we lost, it was how unprepared and unmotivated the team looked with all their goals still on the table except an undefeated season. That keeps sticking with me. if you go back and look at this board, there was very little talk about the OU game, I seems the fans were caught up in SEC championship scenarios or the CFBP . I often wonder if the same things that have us distracted , has the players distracted. Reason I say that was the last game we didn’t talk about much was the Vandy game. The players aren’t keeping the main thing, the main thing. CKD said the team had a good week of practice with good energy. What happened between then and game time? Even with a week to prepare, OU should never control the Game like they did.
CKD needs to learn real quick, as do his players, this conference is a difference beast. He made the same “good week of preparation/energy” comment after the Vandy loss. When asked about “preparation for crowd noise” prior to the UT game in Knoxville, CKD said “I’ve coached in loud places before” and then we have multiple pre-snap penalties. No Coach. Neyland, Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Jordan Hare, and Kyle Field are a different kind of loud.

Then your star 17 year old WR makes the comment that “I think we are the best team in the nation” just before your team getting its rear end handed to them? And post game last night, you make the comment you thought “JM played well” and we just need to do things to “help him out”? Dear Lord, man. Save us the coach speak.

You’re absolutely correct about us as fans. We took Vandy and Oklahoma as “givens”. And after beating LSU, it was a “given” among many here that we would “win out” and “would we get into the CFP if we had a third loss in the SECCG?”. As fans, we have that luxury. Players and coaches don’t. And this season appears to be one where our players take games “as givens”.

As @crimsonaudio said earlier, for the first time today I’m truly questioning if CKD is the right guy for this job. I want him to be “the guy”. But it is time to stop being “a friend” to his players (and coaches) and start being their coach.

Veneables plan was not a spy, but have 8 heads up watching the QB and go where he goes because they knew Milroe wasn’t handing the ball off. 15 runs for 7 yards. More carries than the running backs combined. Which is sad in itself There were so few plays and so many 3 and outs.

Milroe was never going to walk away from the million plus dollar contract he has. No other team would come close to paying him for what he is making now. He isn't stupid; he just used Bama to get richer, and the coaches let him kill any championship hopes with it. The only way Milroe is not on the team next year is if they run him off. Milroe is all about Milroe and the money.

They were probably salivating on zone read plays, knowing he would keep the ball.

Milroe will NOT be on this team next year.
