Bama Game Thread: Official post-game thread - Bama beats Wisconsin 42-10

Today we got "good JM" and a "healthy, 1st team OL."

And what a difference it made! JM wasn't perfect, but no QB is, but we can win with this type of QB play.

Only caveat to this performance is to remember this Wisconsin team would probably be a .400 SEC team. WKU and USF might even beat them with their team speed.

But, the encouraging thing is we played to "our standard" and dominated the game the way a Bama team should. Hopefully, in the process, we got better too!

Only concern I saw was another opposing WR way behind our defense once again. It's happened every game, but we've been lucky not to get burned yet. If this continues to happen that's like gifting the opposition 7. Can't do that against the Georgias and UTs on our schedule.

Hat's off to our O-Line, for playing a dominant & almost perfect play, against Wisconsin in a reallyyyyy awesomely rowdy home crowd..

You can tell Coach Deboer is holding back, on offensive play calling, I have a feeling we witness an offense against Georgia..

College football has never witnessed, when it comes to pure explosiveness, once Coach Deboer opens up the offensive playbook against Georgia..

The Pup's will have noooooo idea what hit them & I have a feeling Coack Wommack will add a few wrinkles to our "Swarm Defense" that Georgia simply isn't prepared for as well..

With Georgia opening up as the favorite only adds that extra chip of motivation during practice the next couple of weeks..

True.
I think we saw what Milroe looks like with with a cohesive, effective o-line: not perfect, but pretty darn good. Kudos to the young man for capitalizing on the opportunity.

We open as 3.5 point dogs to UGA.

Not that this means anything, but I would expect that line to be closer to a pick 'em by the time of the game.

This also means nothing, but the teams we have played this year have only lost to us. Again, that may be more of an interesting anecdote than anything at this point in the season. However, USF plays Miami next weekend, and that could be interesting.

Probably both...the only DB who has never been beaten deep is the one on the bench. Every one who plays gets beat deep now and then. You just hope to make the pass so tough that completions are rare.

Malachi Moore is a good/great safety, but his one weakness is that he tends to play too shallow and gets beat deep occasionally -- UT 2 years ago. Such is life in the defensive backfield.

I think USF missed a few throws on open deep receivers too....Beck wont miss those...although yesterday vs UK he didnt look like his usual self

I suspect that USF has Miami circled, especially give that it's at home. Too much player familiarity and geographical pride for it not too. Doesn't mean Miami won't blow them out, but USF will give them everything they have.

Not so sure about that. Those instate small teams play really angry against the bigger instate teams sometimes. I still expect Miami to win convincingly.

You can search through Tidefans and see posts dating back to Coach Saban's early years where we are discussing if "thud tackling" in practice was contributing to our poor tackling results on the field. We are quick to fondly remember yesteryear and forget the day to day struggles and frustrations of seasons past.

I hope we utilize every weapon in our offensive arsenal. While I would like to see a healthy dose of smash-mouth running, I don't want to restrict our other options. I want to see us run the Dawgs off the field by any and all means possible. Total domination. RTR!

Too many years we led the country in rush defense and top 3-5 in total defense, and scoring defense. You would agree with that ?

I would be very interested I could find a breakdown if there is any major difference between what Steele did vs what Womack is doing scheme wise. I say that because I am not a huge x’s and o’s guy.
