**Official Post-Game Thread**

I'll take the win but this game should have been over after the 27-0 lead. Their defensive speed couldn't hold a candle to our offensive speed. But CU isn't an SEC team and we've got A LOT of work to do this off season.

OL- Until this gets fixed we'll continue to make reservations at Shreveport. No need of going into details I think the entirety of this season and what was witnessed tonight says it all.

QB- See above.

We seem to give up a lot of third and longs. Not sure why that is but it seems to be a reoccurring problem. Our blitzes are getting picked up more times than not. That leaves the door open for giving up big plays.

Again, I'll take the win but I dang sure won't be chest pounding about this victory at work tomorrow.

Great win: winning season, add to bowl victory total, JPW and team gets confidence, team gets monkey (losing streak) off of it back - does not have to carry it throughout the offseason.

Bama was the better team. CU had to make several spectacular plays and the somewhat flukey 2nd TD to even make it close. Most of what Bama did on O was easy. Now that it is over, making the plays to win at the end will be helpful down the road, esp for JPW.

Another well coached game for Bama. Never sat on the lead or played prevent D. As usual this staff did most things just right.

That's what I was really glad about. Keep that record ours and stay ahead of USC.

Glad this season has come to an end. As the year wore on our lack of depth showed and we tired out in the second half. With the electricity in BDS at the first of the season it all went south by the end of the reg. season as we got to watch La. Mo. walk away with a win. JPW must get better in order for us to generate more offense. He hardly ever sets his feet and is still not looking off. But now we have several months to improve and the future is looking bright in T-Town. I still came away bothered by our turnovers and inability to score in the second half against a very average Big-12 team.

I thought it was a well played game on both sides- for once the refs just let them play, no stupid calls or 'what-the-?' penalties. It was a pretty fun game to watch for the most part and I think BAMA represented the SEC very well. Now we can all look forward to some awesome recruiting for BAMA on NSD. Congrats to Coach Saban and the team for the win! RTR!!!:BigA:

what conference supplied the refs, I agree, they let them play! We zshould hire those refs for the SEC! could you imagine after a stupid call, bob davie trying to explain it!

In this case, I think the 3rd and long plays were more a credit to the Buffs' offense than a debit against our defense. They played extremely well and wanted that win as badly as we did. Their OL picked up several very well disguised blitzes and left our DB's out on islands. Colorado really played well on offense. We weren't just sitting back in zones and waiting for something to happen.

The coach and his kid had a great game plan. We just didn't let them run it early on. After the game settled down into matchups, they played well. I give them a lot of credit. They came to play and they will make a lot of noise in the Big XII in the years to come.

I've always liked the SEC vs. Big XII matchup in this bowl. These really are the two best conferences in the country and I think the game tonight showed that.

Davies made the point that we are a young team. We will still be a young team two years from now, because the young talent we are recruiting will be hard to keep off the field..........

There is no way to accurately assess how much this win means to the Program!!
It this great young talent works out, it will be exciting to watch in 08. There is simply no substitute for quality athletes. It is going to be fun.

We put 27 pts on them before they could blink an eye. We had the ball potentially going down to put another seven on them to make it 34-0 then the interception by 14. I think it had more to do with the lack of this team's mental toughness and lack of being able to play for 60 minutes than it did CU having a good game plan and wanting this win bad. Tonight looked exactly like a lot of our games this season. We fizzle and fall apart as the game wears on...

Willis Gilberry played amazing. McClain showed he is the man and that he and Prince Hall will make it difficult for teams to try and attack the middle.

JPW had good stats but he still stared down his receivers. On a couple of instances he actually looked a guy off but about 75% of the time he snapped the ball and stared at the guy he eventually threw to without looking anywhere else. He did, however, stare a guy down and then dump it to the TE or a WR in the middle of the field a couple times which is progress.

Part of me worries about JPW's ability to improve enough so that he actually goes through his progressions, he just doesn't do it at all most of the time and any competent DC will pick up on it and cause him problems. Look at the film, each time he threw a TD he had no other target. Heck, on the Keith Brown TD he started staring at him before he even snapped the ball.

Overall I'm optimistic after this game. Consistency must be worked on but there were some good flashes. Colorado will be in the mix in the Big12 North next year.

We did not deserve to win that game on an account that we cheated again. JK!!!! RTR!!! That game is ours all the way!!!!!!!!!! 30-24!!!!!!!!

JPW may never learn those things you have listed, but he must learn to scramble for positive yards or throw the ball away when the receiver he is stairing down is not open - ie. double covered.

Isn't that what Darby had as well?
Yep . I believe someone else has since then .

Agreed . Also , I think it's the lingering hangover from xcms . Just never appeared as if the team could hold their confidence at any point this season . Not just when things were tight , there was something missing even while having success . :p_blank:
Willis Gilberry played amazing.
... as did Daryl Mustin . :D Bob had another one but , I just can't recall what it was . :conf2:

I agree JPW needs to work on some things. I will say this. Does'nt alot of the issue is the receivers do not help JPW out. They don't try to get open. It seems when the ball is in the air they get the ball. It all depends 1. does JPW place the ball right. and 2. Does the receiver try to get the ball.

I think alot of this is a two way street.

My point is does the WR ever give the most important thing "EFFORT"
