If I was CNS, I'd stick with Simpson at QB and tell Rees to tweak the offense to make the most of what he can do. But I'd put an emphasis on the running game. Bring Simpson along slowly and not ask him to do too much.

I would also consider firing the OL coach as soon as the team gets back to T-town.
What about the freshman RB? Jase?

Dude, WATCH the game. Milroe had plenty of time on both of those plays and threw it directly to the other team. He doesn’t know how to read a defense because HE’S NOT A QB. Add in the fact that his accuracy is horrible, and you saw the result.

Need a better OL coach...........

Wolford is one of the best OL coaches in the country.

I still think Wofford needs time to get his guys in place. The guy won at Kentucky for crying out loud.

Agreed. But I have a hard time believing that our best LT was on the field today. He might make us all forget Andre Smith, Cam Robinson, DJ Fluker and Evan Neal....someday. Today he's going to get our QB -- whoever that turns out to be -- killed.

So if I were Wolford's bossman, I'd want a well-articulated case on my desk tomorrow as to why the starting five are the starting five.

I do have to wonder about McLaughlin. I've heard rumblings of a hand injury. It's hard to understand why he was so sound last year, but this year every snap is an adventure.

Guys - we're witnessing the beginning of the end. This is the most unprepared and unmotivated team we've put on the field since CNS first year. But the talent we put on the field today is 4x his first year squad.

Seriously - we must have been really desperate to give a scholly to Buchner. Slow to process, slow feet, weak arm. A total fraud. Tommy Rees and Kevin Steele were desperate hires - third choice at best.

It was a great ride - but be realistic. The best days of CNS era are over.

I wasnt sold on Steele, but I think he is a better hire than Rees............

you would wait that long?i think i would Lane Kiffen his butt.

I dont care if he was a 5 star or two star. This reminds me to much of watts/zow. I will say though i am getting seriously triggered by the oline and having "pancake posse" flashbacks.
If it's not Simpson, then who? I don't know what the posse refers to. There was a long period of time from college to CNS's arrival that I didn't watch Bama football.

what exactly did simpson do? He threw one pass where he stared down a wide open tight end for like a 35 yard gain or whatever.....and the rest of the whole game(which for him was a half) he made basically zero other good plays. And he didn't manage the pocket or rush at all.

I didn't think simpson looked any better than buchner for the most part. At least buchner and milroe can move a little. It doesn't appear simpson can.

I honestly don't know what the answer at qb is......I don't think we have one. But I honestly didn't see any positives in any of the qbs play....simpson or buchner.
You make a fair point, but, let's see how well Simpson & our offense plays when he gets the starting share of practice reps..

Hopefully our coaching staff molds the offense around what he does best..

What's got me more confident in Simpson, is how our team sorta woke up with him at QB, putting the game away when he stepped in .

I agree - Milroe sucked. But if the LOS had played at an average level on both sides of the LOS we would have won the game. I'm not a Milroe fan.

did you watch the game? He literally made one nice play(which was an easy throw) the entire game....and took a bunch of bad sacks(yes the offensive line gave him no chance on some, but some were on him)

Im not saying Simpson shouldnt start. The other 2 havent given any reason to start them either. But it's clear at this point none of them have shown anything.....so sure why not start simpson. but for the life of me I can't see how anyone could take anything positive from any of their play. Doing so is just grasping at straws in my opinion and just trying to will someone to be 'the guy'.......we don't have a guy, at least right now. it is what it is.
Well, we could always forfeit the remainder of the games to save the embarrassment.
Or we could play the games, and start the QB the coach feels gives the team the best chance of winning.

One day, I hope to read the "inside the program" story on this QB battle.

He might be.............but the results so far are less than stellar. I'm with you on that well articulated case............and I'd be looking at replacing them if they cant get it done

I don’t disagree with this. I missed the 1st half and most of the 3rd quarter. At some point after I got to watch, there was a sideline shot of Coach and a player walked by him, bumped into him, and Coach did not say a thing or look at him. I thought Coach would not have let that go by with no response. It just hit me wrong.
