Re: New Discussion Thread on Possible Coaching Changes...
So here's my challenge to ALL of us - do whatever you can to let the Sabans know you appreciate them. Remember that 100,000 turnout at A-day we talked about? Why not boost it a bit and let's try to do it? I asked about A-day already, I'll have to drive 600 miles but I'm already planning to go. I might even go to the Sugar Bowl since I'll have a place to stay for free.
I'm challenging ALL of us to do what we can and show our love and support for the Sabans.
I know I was annoying, redundant, and incessant with my whole attendance, bla bla bla thing. I never breathed a word of that during the Shula era, and it wasn't that I didn't care about Alabama football, but because it wasn't nearly as important then. Alabama wasn't on the verge of titles, they weren't on the verge of a lot of 5 star recruits, and they didn't have a coach that even knew to care about that sort of thing like Saban does.
At this point though, I look at it like this. Imagine if going to A-Day, and staying until the end of the games, only has a 1% impact on Saban staying, and on recruiting. Do we really want to risk it? I'd bet even some of the fans who left early for Senior Day would have felt guilty had Saban left, because they know Saban notices that sort of thing.
So, at this point in time we can have a positive impact, and we can play our part. To me, that feels good, that's nice. It's nice to be able to do something as simple as sitting in a seat and feel like you're part of the process. It's not 600 miles for me (only 200), and I know not everyone can go, but to those of us that are able, it is a way we can show our appreciation.
Honestly though, it's nice that we have something to be happy about. The Auburn loss doesn't seem so bad now, and FSU and Auburn had to take a back seat to Alabama/Saban talk for a little while (which doesn't hurt recruiting either). Low put up a decent article on ESPN, SIAP:
