Hey did anyone notice it looks like she could easily go south in the ATLANTIC and come back at Florida on her EAST coast?
my new boss recently relocated to atlanta from tallahassee. monday night, he headed down to take care of the house he still has down there. he said minimal damage at most (a few limbs down) and no power outages.
When Drudge leads with the word "apocalypse". Give me a break. Is this hurricane any different than scores of others that have hit the Florida coast?
In my corner of NE Florida, it was much ado about nothing. Being on the coast, the storm was pushed west of us. Hardly any rain, which we need. It was windy yesterday - broke one of my wife's favorite flower pots. But, there is greater grief in the world.
A non-event here...Idalia went west of us...just a good soaking rain. Downtown Charleston probably flooded, but it does anyway with a Super Blue Moon @ high tide. Keeping those in the Florida Bend in our thoughts...

We're actually bumped further into the blue by virtue of our mountaintop elevation...
Some may remember I put a window AC unit in my 2 car garage back on 8-18.
I also installed a timer so it only runs about 12 hours per day.
I was curious to see how this would impact my utility bill.
Today I got my bill and while it only includes a read date of 6 days after the AC was installed (8-24), the total bill amount is only $1.30 more than last month.
We'll see what happens over a longer sample period but so far so good!

I actually bought a ductless mini-split to install last fall/winter, but starting on Labor Day last year had to switch plans to help my Mom. Then we had 2 hurricanes so even more diversions. Hopefully I can get it in THIS fall/winter!
