What is wrong? Nothing.

I have been hearing alot of negativity regarding the young season, especially from AU fans. I expect it from them, but to hear it from our own fans is a shame.
I think Hawaii was a tough game from start to finish. We will not have to face another offense that is even close (maybe Florida). Vandy proved in week 1 versus what I think will prove to be a very good Michigan team, that they are salty on defense and have some good athletes on offense. We had chances to put them away, but had miscues that almost cost us. If we score on the missed opportunities, everybody would be dancing in the streets.
Why do we complain? We are 2-0. Better than 0-2 or 1-1. Is it because of the rankings? Is it because we do not understand why Auburn is ranked #3? I am not sure that they know why themselves. They have not been tested yet. If they blow out LSU, then I will understand. I dare say that Auburn would have played Hawaii any better.
I just say appreciate what we have. We have a clean coach, a quarterback that seems to be full of potential, good receivers, steady running backs, a fast defense, and a pretty solid little kicker. We might not win them all, but it does appear that we are on a steady pace of improvement.
Just remember the Auburn band wagon is full, but will empty as soon as the first bad game is played and a loss occurs. The Alabama fan is a fan for life, at least this one is.

JPW has had good time to throw the ball. Much improved over last year, especially at the end of the year. This team has potential. This week vs. Louisiana Directional will be a tuneup for the upcoming games. I think the offense is looking good. We just need to clean up our mistakes and attack the endzone. The right side has just not found the right combo of players yet. Maybe the left side is so strong that the right side looks weak. I doubt very seriously that there is an Oline anywhere that has 2 good sides.
My only complaint is this: It seems like we play not to lose instead of playing to win. However, we are 2-0 and we won 10 games last year.

I honestly believe we have very little wrong from what was expected at this junction in the season. I am extremely pleased with how the offense looks. We are actually on the cusp of being a juggernaut on offense. This I did not expect one bit. We are mixing the pass and the run up nicely. We are using the FB on runs outside the 5 yard line and we are really throwing the ball to the tight ends. The line is improving and will be a force down the road. The only negative is that we have fumbles. I am sure that will get better. The defense is about where I expected. Make a great play and then mis a read or a tackle. This comes with replacing seven starters. They are a talented group that will learn on the job. What does this mean? It means we can easily look great and beat the crap out of an Auburn, LSU, UT, or FL as well as look bad and lose to a team we are supposed to beat. In the end, the season will be mostly be a success and a great foundation to build on. I feel very good about what I have seen so far.

RTR!

I agree with you Ohio, at this point. Let's don't make excuses. Let's wait and see how they end up. The bottom line is all that counts. W-L's, conference championships and national championships. Let's see what he accomplishes at the end of the season. Another loss to Auburn could be devastating for Shula. I think Bama will win that game.
We'll probably know a lot more when they play Florida.

have you seen the right side of our O line? Don't tell me that there is "nothing" wrong.
we've done everything up until this point to fix that...we have a lot of young talent and I'm sure when they're "there" they will make a difference much like A Smith has on the left. At this point we just have to be patient on the right side...at leat one side of the line is close to (if not) "fixed".

1. There are lots of things "wrong'. Wrong doesnt mean catastrophic. Good news, they can be fixed.

2. Hawaii and Vandy are not good teams. Better than we thought, but not good.

3. Most SEC teams have better offenses than Hawaii. Hawaii's O is great against the WAC.

I am not a football expert, but from what I saw of the game, we rolled over Vandy early and often. Don't even punt until the second half. All we need to do is learn to finish the drive strong.

Now, if we had scored a few more points I would have been much happier, but even with Vandy having a chance to beat us, they coundn't do it.

So, I don't see us going undefeated today, but we are going in the right direction and with some more experience, we will be just fine.

Instead of only having a few players that "Get it", we now have only a few that "Don't get it." Much better than 2 years ago.

Keep up the good work Tide. Keep 'em rolling!

Considering the overall youth we have, I would say that CMS and his staff are doing just fine. Things will start to gel as the season continues and the line will get better. And is it just me, or is Jimmy Johns pushing his way into the starting RB role?

Darby needs to take the snaps. After all, he has been set up for NFL aspirations. It's his to lose, but he needs the chance. Johns will get his share this year, and probably the lion's share next year.

I actually see very encouraging signs for this Tide team this year, and in the future. We've given up only two sacks so far, and we've got a true freshman, and two sophmores starting on the offensive line. For several series on defense we had two freshmen in the linebacker corps in Prince Hall and Zach Schrieber. Nikita Stover came through with a very good catch, and it was obvious Vandy didn't want to kick to Grant and Arenas. We're just young! A lot of our best players are freshmen and sophmores. In terms of talent, I'm reminded of the '91 team. All the mistakes we've made up to this point seem to be very correctable. I, for one, am excited at this team, and see very good things in the future.

I agree with you-all. Our O looks good...our play calling looks good, I am very excited about this team. I love the way the young guys play together....I don't know, there is something about this team....They are going to be special, mark my word;)
