I've always thought the 2006 game was most winnable but Shula incompetence blew it. We had a lead late in the 3rd quarter at home. Nikita Stover and Keith Brown were playing very well.

I can see the argument for 2002 as we were favored, but Coach Fran apparently didn't give a crap about the team by this point. Still a very bizarre game.

I thought we were totally outmatched in 2003.

We played very well in the first half of 2004 but the talent gap caught up later in the game.

2005 was a nightmare and it was clear our o-line had serious issues.

2007 was about as winnable as 2006 but slightly less so because the game was in JHS. Also we struggled to stop Auburn's running game late.

How do auburn fans like being on the other side of “fear the thumb?’“ Not saying we should act as they did then, but I’m just glad that their fans and a certain former coach who ran along with that stupid campaign are getting a taste of their own medicine!

I have been told that in that game our center had a tell when we were going to pass the ball. That tell was communicated to Auburn from the LSU coaching staff. They knew when we were going to pass or run so on a passing play they could pin their ears back and come after Brodie without any hesitation. Our OL did have issues that season but there was more to it than they just weren't very good.

JB Closner was our center, and was hurt against Miss State and didn't play vs Auburn or LSU. I don't remember who took over for him (Antoine Caldwell?). What could have been.

During that stretch, auburn who had more talent than Bama, never won any of those 6 games by more than 10 points!

WOW! That explains so much. Truly a baffling game and one I have never watched back.

You kinda just acted like Auburn by even writing the thumb line. I always feel that the more you rub your opponent's nose in loss or streak, the harder they will work to beat you next time. It's best to tell them great game, shake their hands, and walk away with class.

2002.

We had Jarrett Johnson, Kindal Moorehead, and Kenny King on the DL and they did not have Ronnie Brown or Carnell Williams. They had a 3rd string walk-on (I'm probably exaggerating with that) that started at TB.

Under no normal circumstances should we have lost that game at home. fRAN threw the game, plain and simple. AU was the better team for all of the rest of them.

Not really...He is talking to other alabama fans. I doubt any Auburn Fans are reading this forum especially right now (well besides Dub). @TopBamaBloke even said "I am not saying we should act like them". Making fun of the Barns corny slogans to other Bama fans isn't acting like the Barners were when Tubs was there.

Least winnable -2004,2005 and 2006 Auburn was just down right better

2002- I think we were compromised by a coach looking elsewhere facing a coach coaching for his job

So it really brings you to 2007 and 2003. 03 I think we were equally mediocre teams, and 2007 alabama needed some cancers to go away.

I would go with 03

I remember absolutely nothing about the 03 game. I usually can remember where I was or who I was watching it with. But just nothing when it comes to the 03 game.

Honestly I remember 2 things… maybe I need @selmaborntidefan

1) we had a run back coming out of the half or 4th quarter

2) there was a Bama male cheerleader interviewed during the game who transferred from Auburn who became the center of controversy by saying something to the effect of “ I’m at Alabama but my heart is still at Auburn”. It was the talk after that game.

I remember it. Cadillac Williams scored on the first play from scrimmage, then a couple drives later we stuffed him for a safety. Then late in the game we had a touchdown pass where it was bounced off one Bama player directly into the hands of another. Overall weird game, but never felt like Bama was in good position to win it.
