I don't think the question is whether or not they can get a quality guy...but who is available? And if no one is readily available, who do you turn to to offer them big bucks and pay their buy out to leave their current job?
If or when Miles leaves or gets canned LSU will have no problem getting a top notch coach down to Baton Rouge. It is the only SEC team that basically has zero competition in recruiting within the state. They get the pick of the litter every year. They have talent galore coming from the state.
They could very easily get a top notch coach in there.
Maybe Buzzard, but LSU's history says otherwise.
Case in point: Les Miles was the best they could do after Nick.
I think a question worth asking is, would Michigan want him?
He has proven to be a very poor clock manager, to say the least.

KrAzY3 said:As hard as people are on Les, I don't think he's much different from Nutt. Not a bad coach, but prone to bouts of insanity that can and will cost their team wins.
I've said that Nutt plays every game like his team is down 21 and sometimes the result it that his team can upset a big team (like Florida last year), but the flip side of that is Ole Miss can lose to teams they are clearly better than (like Auburn).
I do not think Michigan would want him now. His opportunity to return to the "Big House" has passed him by.
This disgusts me. Who is he throwing under the bus with that lie? His QB? His assistant coaches? The signal caller?I sure as hell hope so. Of course I can understand Bama fans wanting him to stay. LOL
Check out the video. Its a local sports reporter owning Les Miles...
