Game Thread: Alabama @ Mississippi State

See, what it is, is they just don't like to play during the week. I'm fully expecting a win against UT.

Since when can officials overturn a foul call? That's what the announcers are acting like can be done.

Do these announcers actually seem competent? No, those refs were reviewing to see if it was a 2 or a 3. Anyone with half a brain and who’s watched a game of basketball knows that a call on the floor stands. Not that that description fits these announcers though.

Didn't think I missed a random rule change.

AJ hits a 3 with 7.6 seconds left to cut it to 66-63.

Ingram with ZERO points. We had but 4 assists and lost the rebound battle by 7.

Lost by 4.

I went back and looked and no one motioned for a time out. Avery raised his hand over his head, but not sure if he screemed "time out" or not.

Trash, straight trash. That offense was atrocious.

Sidenote, anyone else notice how hard of a time we had hanging onto the ball for stretches in that game? On one of the closeups at the free throw line, the ball looked like a 5 year old rec ball, not a D1 ball. I wonder if that was just my eyes, or if that was indeed a garbage ball, which would partially explain why we couldn’t buy a bucket. Maybe it’s just how Adidas balls look while most of the other schools use a different brand, but that ball looked worn and slick.

I am going to go off the rails here, but this is Coach's fault. We have two consistent players in Hall and Sexton, and about eight guys who are all over the place on any given night. The lack of consistency is going to cost us a tournament berth and 24 games in the staff doesn't have any idea what buttons to push.

I love everything CAJ brings to the table except the product we see on the floor. Yeah, I know this is being disloyal and all that, but so many years of having the hope stomped out of you and this is what you get.

Ben Howland has made a living at playing defense and executing half-court offense. Thought we should have pushed the tempo. Of course, we tend to turn it over on fast breaks some too. Always an ugly looking game but tried and true formula for Howland.
