Sabanball, I vote this as the best post of the entire thread. Keep up the good work. :cool2:

If anyone is interested, BMI is one way to determine whether or not an adult is overweight. BMI assesses height and weight; muscle mass is not a part of the equation. BMI is calculated by dividing a person's weight (in kilograms) by his or her height (in meters, squared). BMI can also be calculated by multiplying weight (in pounds) by 705, then dividing by height (in inches) twice. A person with a BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered to be at a healthy weight. A person with a BMI of 25-29.9 is considered to be overweight. A BMI over 30 is considered obese. A BMI of 40 or above indicates that a person is morbidly obese. This can increases a person's risk of death from any cause by 50%-150%. For what ever it's worth...
Exactly . That's why , about 5 pages back , I said that BMI was for anorexic cover girls . According to BMI , I'm fat at 6'-1" 188 lbs . That thing would work great in Ethiopia .![]()
Ahead, maybe - but I don't think so. Chris Samuels never allowed a sack at Alabama. Hmmm...
Did you see Andre's play during the last 3 or 4 games last season? Also, Chris got better each year and wound up the best offensive lineman in the country for his junior and senior seasons, winning the Outland Trophy his senior year. He was the 3rd overall pick in the 2000 NFL draft. In the NFL, he is a 4 time Pro-Bowler who signed a $47M, 7 year contract, with a signing bonus of $15M before the start of last season. This for an o-lineman. :eek2:
Andre has a long row to hoe before he even approaches Chris Samuels' accomplishments. Not saying that he can't do it, but you diminish the greatness of one of the best athletes ever to walk our sidelines with your off-hand comparisons...
I feel this thread may have gone off on a slight tangent. Now that we are 4 days into the conditioning, does anyone have any reports from players? Maybe some of you that are on campus??

Akebono TarÃ…Â, 6'8", 517 lbs, Yokozuna for 8 years
Like a poster said earlier, the BMI doesn't account for muscular weight. A great example is myself or the other distance runners on the track team. The heaviest guy we have is around 150 and the lightest guy we have is probably around 110 (we have 6 Kenyans). So we're relatively lightweight than average 18-22 year male, but we're in helluva lot better shape than most 18-22 year olds. Myself personally, I'm 5'10" and 140 pounds.
Someone's gotta have an update!
