I still can’t fathom how he is playing at this point. At literally ANY other level of football, he would not have been the starter after the Tennessee game. But because college football has been tainted by NIL and player entitlement, he is given chance after chance….after chance. I never thought I would ever have so much disdain for ANY Bama player. I can no longer say that. He has destroyed my love for this program.
His last game would have been Texas last year for me. Look at several games that were to close for comfort. Arkansas 23’, Auburn 23’ & the Michigan game. Wes will that with a competent QB. Then this year we have no business losing to Vandy, UT, Ok & USC was to close also. That’s 4 SEC games we cake walk any other year other than the occasional close call.

This is a weird one this time around. Auburn still has bowl eligibility to play for, so the season isn’t a throwaway quite yet.
It's a strange setup this time around. I'm just worried that Deboer will drop this one, and then next year it's in auburn where we are just absolutely snake bitten, and he will start 0-2 against y'all. Ohh...not a good look at all. Ask Shula and Dubose

What has DeBoer done about the culture, it hasn’t changed? All I’ve heard all year is that he’s a players coach which never seems to work long term in the SEC.

If he really wanted to “deal” with the culture then one of the first things he should have done was told Milroe and his LANK mafia to hit the portal. He didn’t and we’ve wasted a second season under their control.

Look, it would be one thing if Bama had lost 3 competitive games to UGA, Tenn and LSU. Losing to 2 6-5 teams with sub .500 conference records is pathetic. Shows a lack of ability to coach up a team which is why I now believe DeBoer’s tenure will be short lived. Remember there were other games where this team looked under prepared but ultimately won the games. They stunk against USF until the final 10 minutes of the 4th quarter. USC was not a pretty game as well.

Wommack has to go the second the clock hits :00 after the bowl game. He can’t cut it in the SEC. I think he’s confused because our OC always goes away from things that are working so he thinks that’s what other teams will do and refuses to adjust. I mean, how many times do you need to see Arnold run all over us before you decide you might want to try and stop him. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is stupidity and that is our DC.
Southern Miss was interested in him at one point

The sad thing is we don’t even need “spectacular” or “unstoppable” at the QB position. We literally just need “Jake Coker”. If Ty is not as good as Coker, I’ll eat my hat.
Jake Coker had Derrick Henry and he isn’t walking through those locker room doors. Look at the 2015 roster and this years team and compare the talent gap it is huge. We won’t have one guy drafted in the first round and maybe not even the first 2 days. Saban didn’t leave the cabinet empty but he also didn’t leave it with steak and lobsters. There just isn’t much top level talent on this team and many guys have not taken steps forward.

You are missing the point. Even with our flaws, 2024 Bama is a QB away from being elite.

You don’t need to explain to me. I never wanted Milroe to take another snap after the aTm game in 2022. Even then, it was clear to me he was not a QB.

As I was watching tOSU and Indiana yesterday (with the sound off - can’t stand Klatt and Gus) there has been one thing this season about tOSU that has impressed me. They are a fundamentally “sound” football team in all facets of the game. To me, they aren’t a spectacularly impressive team. They just do the things that win. Howard at QB “does his job” without much fanfare. Same holds true for most of the other positions. Yeah, they spent a ton buying portal plays. But give Day credit for making that hodgepodge “cohesive”.

As @colbysullivan stated earlier, some how the past two years we come to think that JM has to be “the straw that stirs the drink” on offense. And JM knows that, and has leveraged it to the point where he isn’t coming off the field.
You give me too much credit. All I said was “he sucks” lol

We aren’t going to be able to bring quite as much thunder as OK could. Milroe might have a bounce back opportunity. We're too limited personnel wise. At least Durkin won’t make the same mistake Ron Roberts did in last years IB if it comes down to that.
A friend of mine who is a big auburn fan told me "chill man....we have no idea what is gonna happen. As good as it was to get a W last night, I'm not quite as confident in auburn's ability to get it done in the road, in a hostile environment, in a place where we haven't won in a decade and a half. Deep breaths". It's actually Auburn fans who are talking me off the ledge heading into the game 😂

I think you are vastly overestimating the talent on this team. It just isn’t there this year which is why there not players seen as high draft caliber guys on the offensive side of ball. Yes a better pocket passer would help but there isn’t a ton of talent on this team and especially a ton of motivated talent.

I don't want you to think I'm in any way saying "You're wrong".

I know you have closer contact to the situation than the average fan and I have heard from others what you are saying about the situation in 2023.

But I have also heard from a few people that Ty has worked very hard and has improved greatly and looked "Spectacular" and "Unstoppable" in Summer and Fall Camps.

He's very talented and imo deserves a fair shot at the job.

CNS is at fault for allowing the whole mess to begin and fester and I agree with you about that part.

But CKD also is to blame for not ending the whole mess when he's had multiple chances to make a change.

Milroe should have been benched in the Tenn game, he should have been benched before and during the Mizzou game and he should have been benched vs OU.
Saban got greedy and sacrificed the future of the team for one last title and ride off in the sunset. And now we are dealing with his decision.

And why wasn’t Cignetti considered? He’s from the Saban tree and a hell of a coach.
