Constant? Really? This really gets blown way out of proportion. Something happens maybe two times, and it's then constant. I'm guessing you refer to when he hesitated on running a couple times. Did you know he only had 4 interceptions from Ole Miss through Michigan this past season? Yet some want to still include interceptions as one of his problems. I thought he did a really good job leading the team into the playoffs, with wins over the Barn and Georgia. His positives outweigh what negatives he has bigly. And he's still improving. The players and coaches like him. I don't see there's any problem. I will support whoever wins the starting job. It'll definitely take an elite quarterback to beat Milroe for the job.
So we're going to say his lack of interceptions shows he's doing well? I'd say it shows he isn't throwing the ball away or hitting a hot route over a blitz....then most just blame the OL for allowing the sack.
He made poor decision after poor decision at Auburn. Throws over the line of scrimmage twice....for no reason other than his lack of awareness in the heat of the moment.
The Auburn win was a miracle, we should have never been in that situation. The Georgia win....was busted play after busted play for us because they had 2 spies and rarely blitzed.
If he improves with his decision making....great. Throws in practice with no pressure are throws in practice with no pressure. I'm more interested in how the QB's progress in scrimmages and the A-Day game....sure, they can't be touched, but they have to process what the defense is doing to be successful.
The players and coaches love Milroe, yes. He plays the leadership role and the politics well. This is where I'm nervous for 2024....if Milroe doesn't win the job, does DeBoer lose a portion of the team? Do we have a repeat of USF?
