That reminds me of an article I read in Athlons back in the early 80's. I believe it was the collectors edition in '81, the one commemorating Coach Bryant breaking the record. In it the writer recounted a story by Ara Parsegian in which the Notre Dame coach stated that he was home watching Alabama play on TV. During the game an Alabama player got hurt and was lying on the field. He lay there motionless until Coach Bryant walked out and leaned down over him. Shortly thereafter he hopped up and jogged off the field. According to the story, a few minutes later Parsegian's phone rang. The voice on the other end asked, " Is this Ara Parsegian?"
"Yes"
"Coach Parsegian?"
"Yes, this is me."
"Are you watching the Tide play?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact I am."
"Did you see Bear go out there and heal that boy? Coach Bryant may not can walk on water but he sure knows where the stumps are."
