I have been in battle and that view, while correct, is politically incorrect! Unfortunately, there are some people in this country, probably some on this board that would sacrifice our prosperity, liberty, and freedom itself all in the name of political correctness!

it sure as hell wasn't political correctness that has caused those three things to be sacrificed in the past few years.

Ah, a fiendish Republican plot! Now we'll have to spend the next four years hearing that Obama isn't really the president because he never took the actual oath of office. ;)
 
At least the 8 year nightmare is over. I am cautiously optimistic about the next 4 but fearing the worse. We are in deep trouble and I wish BO the best with getting us out of it.

I am also happy to see someone else get a chance to turn this ship. I am not as optimistic, but that has nothing to do with Obama. I just wonder, did you ever wish GWB well in getting us out of the troubles that we faced over the last 7+ years (post 9/11)? I don't mean to direct this just at you, but at the entire GWB hating crowd.

I think that our country is doomed, but I pray that Obama or Bush or anyone else can make a difference. I don't get the sense that most Americans pray for their president (or whatever passes for prayer in their respective lives) unless they voted for him...

Excellent post. I never have understood the "us versus them" mentality that so many politicians and their constituents have adopted.

I've also never understood the need for the "2 party" system. How can we expect to work together to better the country when we've divided ourselves from the getgo? Our country seems hellbent on division in one way or another (political party, race, etc). Divided we fall...

I didn't vote for Obama and I believe he was elected for all the wrong reasons, but I sure hope he comes in and does a good job because my future and the future of all those I care about depends on it. What good does it do to dog cuss the current president and hope for his failure? It's absolutely counter-productive. Unfortunately, for the last 8 years, a significant amount of people have been obsessed with counter-productivity...

I bet they never stopped to think about the fact that if President Bush had failed as badly as they wished for him to, their freedoms and well-being would have gone down in flames with him because he is the President of the country in which they're living. You can't expect your President to fail miserably and your country to remain the same as it always has...

And all because he didn't have their preferred party name attached to his title. Where the hell is the sense in that?
