I think people also know Coach Saban’s history when in comes to QB’s. When he finally “lands” on someone, he usually sticks with them through thick and thin. That goes all the way back to his LSU days.It seems like people are mistaking
"Milroe might be the best QB on our roster for winning right now. Might as well hope for the best"
And
"Milroe is a great QB"
I think many people think the first one but very few think the 2nd one.
No doubt. They went a little to "prevent'ish" on the last 2 Clemson scoring drives to be successful, but they were gassed. Sark did a lousy job managing Jalen in that game. Too many incomplete third down passes or runs out of bounds on third down, which stopped the clock and gave Clemson more plays. That Clemson, game ending drive rested squarely on our offense not being able to convert 3rd downs throughout the game. Clemson ran 99 plays that night, our guys were gassed beyond belief. If we could have converted just a few more 3rd downs that game, we win. If Bo doesn't go down with a broken leg, we win. That D held on as long as it could.
Well here is the problem. There are two huge crowds. One in which overplays bad plays and one that overplays good ones. I mean we seriously had a “Milroe compared to Vince Young” thread after the MTSU game…It seems like people are mistaking

So you're saying the current thread "Armchair bloviating and conjecture on the QB after Game 5" is chopped liver?“Thoughts on the QB after game 6” should be awesome![]()

Maybe I've blocked this game from my memory, but I remember much discussion about this and it makes perfect sense.Clemson was stealing the calls
Oh, they were.Maybe I've blocked this game from my memory, but I remember much discussion about this and it makes perfect sense.
Wasn't this the game they picked Tua off a time or two and all the plays that seemed to get our receivers open in space suddenly were shut down to nothing.
It was either the greatest scouting and coaching job in history OR they knew exactly what we were doing before we did it!
That was the blow out....or were they doing it both years?Clemson was stealing the calls
Wasn't the same question asked when Hurts was here? One of my thoughts is "How is our current quarterback and offensive situation going to impact recruiting?"
Agreed.Wasn't the same question asked when Hurts was here?
They brought in Tua and Bryce Young, Waddle, Smith, etc...
We may have also entered that time frame as happened with Coach Bryant of, "Hey, he's not gonna be there in 3 years, so come to our school." In Bryant's case, there was a state law (at the time anyway) that he couldn't work for the school past age 70 (or some sorta detail the lawyers will know better than I). So starting at age 66 (which would have been after - wait for it - the 1979 season), coaches could go say to four-year college players, "You know, Bryant won't be there when you graduate, he's gonna have to retire."Agreed.
The bigger concern is if we lose another game or two and don't make it to the CFP again this year will be the narrative that the program is post-peak. Couple that with NIL issues and it's going to be harder to sign the best of the best even if we still have the best recruiter in the history of college football.
As it stands now, our current QB recruit probably didn't commit thinking he'd likely be playing as a true freshman but he may be thinking that now.
He absolutely has to carry some of the blame as he made the decision to retain him for 5 suboptimal years. But, he’s the GOAT and earned the right to make a few bad decisions.Pete Golding is probably what cost CNS from winning at least 1 National Championship over the last 2 years. Even with BoB as OC the last 2 years. Then again, CNS has some blame in it also.
I think the former is only true because of the lack of experience from Ty/Dylan. Get a few games under their belt, and you won't be able to say that anymore. That's why it's so frustrating that the QB battle seemed to be stacked heavily in Milroe's favorIt seems like people are mistaking

Clemson hasn't been the same since that became a known thing.Clemson was stealing the calls
Simpson will go to UT and Heupel will make him a Heisman contender.I imagine Milroe would do really well as QB at a Group of 5 school, but I'm sure that's probably not a popular opinion here. Simpson, no idea where he will go, but I don't expect him to stay either.
it’s been mostly been debunkedDELETED
YES, YES, YES!When I stop yelling at my TV "THROW THE BALL AWAY!", I will feel better about the QB siuation.
