**OFFICIAL** Bama vs LSU Post Game Thread

Oh, sir, let me TELL you the typical gameday experience.

1.) We are warned over and over at practice. "Keep an eye on your things, keep them close because people will try to steal them." Doesn't happen at other games. Garaunteed to happen at LSU. In my 4 years, it's ALWAYS happened.

2.) My section does NOT allow women to march on the outside during the elephant stomp because there have been TOO many instances to count of women being sexually harassed. Again, in my 4 years it's happened plenty.

3.) "Do not try to reason with them. You can't. Just be polite, say, "Have a nice day, sir." And walk away." In 2005 I, in front of a police officer, defended myself against a drunk LSU fan after spewing the same line. More forwardly, I laid him out cold. In front of an officer of the law. You tell me who you think was out of line?

*edit* These instances are LSU specific

I'm with you. I was in the MDB pep band in '98 and someone actually tried to TAKE my saxophone as we walked out of the stadium. I retaliated when he wouldn't let go, creating a very memorable dent in the bottom that still warms my heart when I see it this very day.

Re: Caddell's Catch?

He had his hands on the side of the ball and the point touches the ground going down. It was the right call. As bad as I hate to say it, all the reversals were called correct.

i disagree... if you look at prothro's "the catch", the ball "moved", but he had possession of it the entire time. its "movement" was caused by him landing on it. they got it right that time, they got it wrong this time.

JPW is not why we lost. The terrible reception reversal is not why we lost. We lost because we got beat. It was a heartbreaker, but not our season. We did very well. I am happy with where we are and where we are going.
You are correct. There was no single play that beat us tonight. Anyone who doubts it should take a look at the stats for the game. It will settle any question about why we lost.

With that said, I am proud for the way our team played. They were focused and played with great disclipline. We are on the right path and the future is great. If all LSU fans could now vote for either Miles or Saban as their coach going forward, I believe the results would surprise many. Guys, we have landed the crown jewel.

Congrats to LSU, as the best team won tonight.

well, we can't have LSU out of the title game possibility now, can we?? I stll say Caddell made the catch.

Unless Ole Miss and Arkansas find ways to beat LSU.

Arkansas has a better chance.

Last year, Ole Miss came within a whisper of beating LSU and is a big rival with LSU. However, after the Rebels had to hold off a IAA team today, I just dn't see it happening this year. Not even close.

Hey, if we go to the Peach (or Chick-Fil-A or whatever bowl they call it) Bowl or Gator Bowl, I'm one happy dude. :)

But if he has CONTROL of the ball before it hits the ground, and doesnt lose it when it hits, then how can it be incomplete?

When we were ahead by 7 with around 5 minutes left and it was 3rd and 5, i wish we'd have just tried for the first down instead of throwing a bomb that was incomplete........

I'll tell you what that was the best game I've seen Bama play in along time we just played the #3 team in the nation for 4 full quarters and it took them every bit of it to beat us.

Considering who and what we have on our team ( I love each and every one of them mind you) we are in great shape with Coach Saban at the helm.

Was it the most perfect error free game ever no, but we did more with less than we could of ever hoped for before in these last 4 or 5 years.

I'm proud of this team and our boys and nothing anyone can say will change that fact!

I tell you what, LSU had the talent to beat us by 20. I think coaching (miles and Saban)and LSU not keeping tempers in check kept us in the game.

I feel LSU should have ran the ball to beat us. But they kept throwing, allowing turnovers to happen. Bad coaching to a point when running would have prevented those turnovers. Hell Flynn could run on us.. We cant stop the run, but LSU stayed away from it.

I think our players fed off of Saban's don't panic mode, when down 17-3.

Anyways the better team won, but I bet Alabama wont be a easy win anymore for anyone.

Matt Flynn Kept you in this game

if it wasn't for the INT, it could have been a blow out

Man it hurts, but I think you nailed it. Get the shades out folks, the future is bright. RTR!

just got back from t-town.....it was an awesome scene! lsu is clearly superior. any team that withstands 120+ yards of penalties, 3 INTs, goes into a hostil-a%$ environment like tuscaloosa and manages to win is a very good team. as far as Bama, there is NO question that we are about to go on a serious tear through the SEC....and the nation for that matter. in 2 years. give the team 2 years. our defense is learning to play with aggressiveness. and the O will be awesome because there are many skill players on the team. we'll be great.

Yea, we gave em all they wanted and then some..... Bama has come a long way in the last few weeks.... remember all the dread of playing LSU that was on this very forum just a few short weeks ago? i do, cuz i was dreading us having to play them also, but Bama showed the SEC tonight that there is going to be a new king on the hill VERY soon!

My first post is one to congratulate the Alabama players for their tentacity and heart they showed in this game. I am a long Bama fan and grew up in T-town where my brother and I attended this university. My mother still lives in Tus. and is a hugh Bama fan. Stay strong Alabama and know we are still behind you.

No sir our Secondary kept us in this game and your poor discipline kept us in this game.

If you were actually watching the game you would know that since there was no potential for blowout after the first quarter, now please take you arse off our board.

Well, on the Caddell catch, I think he made it. Had the catch initially been called incomplete, I am not sure there would have been enough to overturn that. But I also, since it was originally called complete, the video evidence did not look strong enough to overturn either.

That said, if I remember the sequence of events correctly, after that play, we ended up punting on 4th and a mile, defense held them, they had the stupid 4th down play, then we returned their punt for a TD. Now, you can complain all you like about the Caddell catch/non-catch, but I do not really believe it cost us the game. It was everything that happened after that punt return that lost it for us. End of the day, we played a great game, but LSU had more horses than we did. My hats off to them. Wait until next year.
